What is a Suica Card?

For ease and convenience when using Japan’s public transportation system, get yourself a Suica card. It is a prepaid, rechargeable IC card that you can use to pay for train and bus fares around the country by simply touching it on a reader every time you enter and exit a train station or get on or off a bus.

Use on trains and buses. Vending machines. And, in convenience stores and restaurants.

*Deposit

Your Suica Card arrives credited with 2,000 yen including a 500 yen deposit. It is not possible for you to spend the 500 yen deposit but you can claim this back at the end of your trip.

More information on Suica Cards can be found here.

Thank you for entering our competition and good luck!
